Just the Facts: Aura Energy

Just the Facts: Aura Energy

Proactive's Tylah Tully gives us Just the facts on Aura Energy Ltd (ASX:AEE, AIM:AURA)'s latest ASX announcement. AEE submitted an exploitation permit application to the Swedish Mining Inspectorate for the Häggån K no 1 concession and a new exploration application for Häggån no 2, which covers parts of the original concession.

The Häggån Project, located in central Sweden, contains a polymetallic mineral resource of 2 billion tonnes, including vanadium, potassium, nickel, zinc, molybdenum, and uranium. These critical minerals are essential to Europe's energy transition and for ensuring food and energy security.

The company highlighted that the permit process has confirmed important aspects of the project, including environmental and social impact considerations. The company is also exploring further opportunities to contribute to Sweden’s mineral strategy, aiming to create jobs and support economic growth.

The project holds significant quantities of uranium, but due to Sweden’s current ban on uranium mining, it was not included in the exploitation permit. However, Aura sees future economic potential if the ban is lifted, which could increase the project's value by 37%. Further drilling is expected to de-risk the resource and extend the project's mine life.
