AB Foods visibility an issue in next week's trading's update

Associated British Foods PLC (LSE:ABF) is among the big names reporting next week (on Tuesday 10 September) with the bulls (ShoreCap) expecting it to underline its strengths.

Namely for the broker, this means a strong positive culture and sense of purpose, shareholder friendliness, both growth ambition and financial prudence, and a generally high-quality mix of businesses.

Its share price has also recovered well from a deep-rating compression from pandemic days, notes the broker.

Primark will dominate the statement, with the company already modest like-for-like growth that the market has interpreted as around 7% sales growth and underlying profits [EBIT] over £1bn.

Other parts of the business should also be going well, but ShoreCap says it will sit on its hands until the numbers are out in the absence of better visibility, though 'buy' remains the long-term stance.
