Volvo has announced the upcoming launch of a new electric truck capable of covering 600 kilometres (373 miles) on a single charge designed to meet the growing demand for zero-emission freight transport.
Expected to be a game-changer in the logistics industry, it offers a sustainable alternative to traditional diesel-powered units while maintaining efficiency over long distances.
Volvo's move is part of the broader industry trend toward electrification, as companies seek to reduce their carbon footprint and comply with stricter environmental regulations.
"Our new electric flagship will be a great complement to our wide range of electric trucks and enable zero-exhaust emission transport also for the longer distances," said Roger Alm, the Swedish truckmaker's CEO.
"It will be a great solution for transport companies with a high annual mileage on their trucks and with a strong commitment to reduce CO2."
To date, the group has delivered more than 3,800 electric trucks to customers in 46 countries around the world.
