Polarean Imaging PLC (AIM:POLX, OTC:PLLWF) has appointed Alan Huang, formerly of Philips Healthcare, as the firm’s new sales vice president.
Having served at Philips for 12 years and as its MRI business unit’s North American head most recently, Huang joins Polaren following over a year of collaboration between the two firms.
He will directly manage sales and marketing at Polarean as the company looks to accelerate the adoption of Xenon MRI technology for lung imaging, a statement said.
This includes academic medical centres, with the technology set to improve the characterisation and management of chronic lung disease for patients and clinicians.
“[It] comes at an ideal time following our recent financing, as we aim to expand our sales infrastructure with best-in-class talent,” chief executive Christopher von Jako commented.
“Alan's extensive experience at Philips, where he successfully grew their MR business and built strong relationships with a large number of academic medical centres and clinicians across the US, makes him a tremendous asset to Polarean.”
Huang holds over 15 years of experience in the medical device industry, alongside a PhD in biomedical engineering from Baltimore’s Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
“Through the Philips partnership with Polarean and numerous conversations with customers, I became more aware of the significant unmet clinical need and was impressed by the company's innovative approach,” Huang added.
