Genel Energy PLC (LSE:GENL, OTC:GEGYY) has appointed career diplomat Dominick Chilcott as a non-executive director.
Chilcott, who has most recently served as British ambassador to Turkey, joined the oil and gas company at the start of September, according to a statement on Monday.
He also previously held ambassadorial roles in Ireland and Iran, as well as serving in Washington and as high commissioner to Sri Lanka.
This comes after the company highlighted resilient cash-generative production at the Tawke project in Iraq last month and signalled ongoing plans to diversify elsewhere.
“We are delighted to welcome Sir Dominic to the Board,” Genel chair David McManus commented.
“Sir Dominic will bring further insight and perspective to the board as we aim to fulfil our strategic objectives and create shareholder value while acting as a socially responsible contributor to the global energy mix.”
