Oasis vinyl sales go supernova

Sales of Oasis vinyls are flying off the shelves as a result of the Manchester lads announcing their return 15 years after splitting.

Phil Halliday, managing director of HMV, told The Evening Standard: “Sales figures from the past week, both in-store and online, pay testament to their popularity across the nation.

“It’s great to see so many people revisiting their vinyl catalogue, from classic releases like Definitely Maybe all the way through the Knebworth LP.

“I’m sure I won’t be the only one trying to get my hands on tickets on Saturday.”

Sales of Definitely Maybe fivefold since last week, according to Halliday, while What’s The Story (Morning Glory) and the Knebworth live album rose 684% and 209% respectively.

Earlier this week, HVM announced a 30th anniversary reissue of 1994 classic Definitely Maybe.
