Uneventful week for Bitcoin as Musk's Dogecoin saga wraps up in court - Crypto Roundup

Uneventful week for Bitcoin as Musk's Dogecoin saga wraps up in court - Crypto Roundup

Proactive's Billy Farrington takes Stephen Gunnion through recent movements in the cryptocurrency market, particularly focusing on Bitcoin. Farrington highlighted that Bitcoin experienced a volatile week, with prices dropping by 5% against the dollar, driven by ongoing recession fears in the US and significant outflows from Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

He explained that these ETF outflows, which totalled approximately $300 million, added downward pressure on Bitcoin prices. However, there was a slight recovery towards the end of the week as on-exchange Bitcoin balances decreased, indicating that investors were moving their holdings into cold storage rather than trading them.

Farrington also touched on the ongoing relationship between Elon Musk and Dogecoin, including a recent court ruling that dismissed a class action lawsuit against Musk. The judge ruled that Musk’s tweets were aspirational and not grounds for market manipulation claims.
