M&G dividend and inflows will be the half year focus

M&G PLC (LSE:MNG) saw a net inflow of funds last year and investors will hope that it can repeat the trick in the first half of this year.

Equity markets have been buoyant recently, especially in Europe, so the fund manager might also get a performance tailwind.

The group has already said it is on track to meet its operational gearing target of £2.5 billion by the end of 2024 and for cost savings of £200 million and a reduction in leverage to below 30% in 2025.

Consensus forecasts for next week’s interims are a £362 million operating profit and for the dividend to tick up slightly to 6.6p.

At the current 215.3p, the dividend yield is a punchy 9.2%.
