Just the Facts: St George Mining

Just the Facts: St George Mining

St George Mining Ltd (ASX:SGQ) continues to strengthen its board, announcing the appointment of Brazil’s former Minister of Mines and Energy, Adolfo Sachsida, as an advisor to the board. Here’s Proactive’s Tylah Tully with Just the Facts.

Sachsida, who has extensive experience in both the Brazilian government and the business sector will offer strategic advice as St George advances its niobium business in Brazil.

The appointment strengthens its position ahead of the anticipated acquisition of the Araxá Project, which demonstrates high-grade niobium and rare earth element mineralisation.

St George expects to complete this acquisition in late September or early October this year, subject to shareholder approval.

The project’s situated in a well-established mining district near world-leading niobium operations and has already yielded significant niobium potential, with over five hundred intercepts showing grades exceeding 1%.

The acquisition’s seen as a critical step in St George’s strategy to develop a globally significant niobium company.

“We are delighted to welcome the well-regarded and highly credentialled Adolfo Sachsida to our team as we enter an exciting growth phase for St George with the proposed acquisition of the high-grade niobium-REE Araxá Project in Minas Gerais, Brazil,” St George Mining executive chairman John Prineas said

“Adolfo’s wealth of high-level experience in the government and business sectors of Brazil – including his leadership as Minister of Mines and Energy – will be of enormous value to St George as we strive to build a globally significant niobium company.”
