Hochschild Mining getting tailwind from record gold price

Hochschild Mining PLC (LSE:HOC, OTCQX:HCHDF) should be getting a healthy tailwind from the current record gold and strong silver prices.

The South American precious metals miner has already said it received US$2,291 an oz for gold and US$30.2 per oz for silver, up 17% and 29% respectively.

First half net gold production was up strongly at 103,000 oz, with grades higher and costs for the year predicted to be between US$1,510 and US$1,550 on a sustaining basis.

Annual production guidance is 343,000 to 360,000oz.

Net debt at the half year was US$271 million but helped by the current record gold prices, if there is guidance for a marked reduction in the second half investors should take that well.
