Argentina Lithium & Energy Corp (TSX-V:LIT, OTCQX:LILIF) has identified nearly 600 hectares of potential lithium brine aquifers at its Don Fermin property.
The company announced the completion of geophysical surveys at its Don Fermin property, part of the Rincon West lithium project in Salta Province.
The surveys revealed nearly 600 hectares of potential lithium brine aquifers, providing new targets for a planned six-hole drill program, pending permit approval.
The Don Fermin property, covering 1,456 hectares, is located on the eastern flank of the Salar de Rincon, approximately 19 km east of Argentina Lithium’s main Rincon West property and near Rio Tinto's Rincon Project and Argosy Minerals' Rincon Project, making it a significant location for lithium exploration.
The company conducted 24.2 line-kilometers of Transient Electromagnetic (TEM) sounding surveys, which are designed to detect conductive strata potentially linked to lithium-rich brines. The TEM technique has been effective in identifying drill targets in previous projects, where significant intervals of lithium-bearing brine were encountered.
"The TEM survey is a powerful tool that once again has provided us with excellent information for targeting,” said Miles Rideout, vice president of exploration at Argentina Lithium. "We are excited to move towards drilling at Don Fermin and potentially define a second area for lithium resource delineation."
The drill program, once permitted, will focus on these newly identified targets.
