Novo Resources fields strong gold results from re-logging and sampling at Belltopper in Victoria

A re-logging and infill sampling program by Novo Resources Corp (TSX:NVO, OTCQX:NSRPF, ASX:NVO) at the Belltopper Gold Project in Victoria has borne fruit, with the company reporting strong results across 11 previously under-sampled historical drill holes within priority target corridors.

The detailed re-logging and additional sampling from some historical diamond drill holes delivered multiple new significant gold results across a range of known and emerging targets.

Results include:

  • 6 metres at 4.37 g/t gold from 169 metres, including 5 metres at 5.18 g/t from 169 metres, in DDHMA1 on the Never Despair Reef;
  • 2 metres at 7.19 g/t from 52 metres, including 1.15 metres at 12.01 g/t from 52 metres and 2 metres at 3.87 g/t from 43 metres, including 1 metre at 6.92 g/t gold from 43 metres in MD04 on the emerging Butchers Gully Fault target, a layer parallel structure to the high-grade Leven Star Reef;
  • 3.1 metres at 3.29 g/t from 36 metres, including 1.3 metres at 7.26 g/t from 37.3 metres in MD06A, also on the Butchers Gully Fault;
  • 2.1 metres at 3.82 g/t from 78.9 metres, including 0.6 metres at 9.74 g/t from 79.3 metres in MD07 on NW Fault 9, an important, west-dipping, sub-parallel trending structure to the high-priority Missing Link Reef target; and
  • 13 metres at 0.64 g/t from 90 metres, including 1 metre at 1.92 g/t from 94 metres, in DDHMA2 on the West Panama Reef.

The results give the company confidence in prospective gold intervals identified during the re-logging exercise, including some current modelled high-grade gold and antimony reefs that were intersected but not originally sampled in historical programs.

DDHM01 from 169.15 metres to 174.9 metres. Never Despair intersection returning 6 metres at 4.37 g/t gold from 169 metres. Strongly elevated arsenic and elevated silver, molybdenum and antimony accompany this interval.

NW Fault 9 and NW Fault 4, picked out during previous modelling, belong to an important set of gold-bearing, west-dipping structures that form a component of the anticline-related – for example, Fosterville-style – epizonal targets at Belltopper.

Re-logging has confirmed controls on higher-grade mineralisation and refined the position of several target reefs and key structural features such as modelled high-grade shoots and high-priority target anticline corridors.

The current focus is on delivering an exploration target for the network of high-grade historic and newly discovered gold reefs at Belltopper and growing the pipeline of conceptual high-value shallow and deeper targets.

Novo executive co-chair and acting CEO Mike Spreadborough said: “Belltopper in Victoria is an exciting high-grade gold project, located in a proven gold jurisdiction.

"The excellent work completed by our geological team, which has uncovered multiple significant intercepts including grades of up to 12.01 g/t gold, highlights the exciting opportunity we have in front of us to further explore and develop Belltopper into a project with size and scale.

"We have a busy period of work planned at Belltopper at a time when the price of gold is at all-time highs.”
