The first £1 coins featuring King Charles III have entered circulation across the UK after being issued to banks and Post Offices across the country.
Just shy of 3 million new £1 coins have been issued, The Royal Mint announced on Tuesday, with these featuring British bees in tribute to the King’s “passion for conservation”.

“We know there’ll be a buzz of excitement amongst collectors,” Royal Mint director Rebecca Morgan commented, “we hope the designs across all denominations spark important conversations about the conservation of these important species”.
