Palo Alto Networks Q4 results exceed expectations

Palo Alto Networks Inc (NYSE:PANW, ETR:5AP) shares moved higher after Monday’s closing bell as the cybersecurity firm’s outlook impressed and its latest results topped Wall Street estimates.

For fiscal 2025, earnings per share (EPS) are expected to be in the range of $6.18 to $6.31, up 9% to 11% from fiscal 2024 and compared to estimates of $6.20.

The firm expects revenue between $9.1 billion and $9.15 billion, up between 12% and 13% year-over-year in line with estimates of $9.11 billion.

For the first quarter of fiscal 2025, the company expects revenue to grow between 12% and 13% to between $2.1 billion and $2.13 billion, compared to estimates of $2.11 billion.

EPS is expected to be in the range of $1.47 to $1.49. This represents year-over-year growth between 7% and 8% and topped estimates of $1.44.

For the fourth quarter of 2024, Palo Alto Networks reported EPS of $1.51 on revenue of $2.2 billion, ahead of estimates of $1.41 and $2.16 billion, respectively.

"We finished off the year with strong execution on our platformization strategy in Q4," Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora commented.

"As we look forward to fiscal year 2025 and beyond, we are focused on scaling our Next-Generation Security business through continued innovation and execution."

Shares of Palo Alto Networks traded up 3.7% at $356 post-earnings.
