Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd (TSX-V:GMG, OTCQX:GMGMF) is advancing the commercialization of its THERMAL-XR product, with significant progress in gaining U.S. Environmental Protection Agency approval.
The company said in a statement that, in partnership with Nu Calgon, it has engaged a consultant to prepare and submit a Pre-Manufacture Notice to the EPA.
The submission is expected by the end of October, according to the statement.
THERMAL-XR Coating System enhances and restores the thermal conductivity of corroded heat exchange surfaces, protecting them while boosting efficiency and potentially reducing power consumption.
The new PMN application seeks broader approval without limitations on volume, application techniques, or market sectors. EPA approval could be granted within 12 months.
Globally, GMG is conducting production coating trials for THERMAL-XR with air conditioning manufacturers in China and the US, as well as with a major manufacturer of trucks and trains. The company is collaborating with several global manufacturing companies across various sectors, which have passed initial product performance tests and are now working to optimize production processes before moving to full-scale production.
GMG's Managing Director and CEO, Craig Nicol, hailed the “exciting” progress.
"The various types of industries now trialing and, in some cases, ordering the product include after-market air conditioning, data centers, air conditioner manufacturers, truck and train manufacturers, and industrial facilities such as LNG plants."
Chairman Jack Perkowski echoed Nicol’s sentiments, noting the growing traction in key markets: "THERMAL-XR is an exciting prospect for the company in many markets including for the China Air Conditioner Manufacturers. It is encouraging to see the company gaining traction in this and other markets."
