Aclara Resources Inc (TSX:ARA, OTC:ARAAF) announced progress in the evaluation of its Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the Penco Module, the company’s rare earth mineral project in Chile.
In a statement, the junior resource company said the EIA has now moved to the next stage of the review process, as no government agencies requested the anticipated termination of the procedure within the legally required timeframe—a positive outcome compared to the 2023 evaluation, where such a request had occurred.
In the coming days, Chile's Environmental Service Assessment (SEA) will issue a consolidated report, known as ICSARA, summarizing the observations from various government agencies.
Aclara focuses on heavy rare earth mineral resources found in Ion-Adsorption Clay deposits. The Penco Module in Chile's Bio-Bio Region and the Carina Module in Goiás, Brazil, are key projects for the company as it seeks to develop vital rare earth mineral resources.
