Cyprium Metals identifies 54,050 tonnes of above-ground copper at Nifty

Cyprium Metals identifies 54,050 tonnes of above-ground copper at Nifty

Cyprium Metals Ltd (ASX:CYM, OTC:CYPMF) executive chair Matt Fifield joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss a mineral resource estimate for the above-surface material at its Nifty Copper Mine in Western Australia.

The estimate reveals a processing-ready resource of 54,050 tonnes of copper, which represents only a portion of the stockpiled material at the site. Historical production data suggests there is significant potential for additional resource discovery in the unsampled areas.

Fifield said the updated mineral resource estimate was a crucial step towards restarting the cathode plant and advancing Nifty's redevelopment.

The estimate was derived from an extensive review of prior data and new analyses from a 2021 sonic drill program. This is the first updated MRE for Nifty's heap leach pads since 2015.

The historical records indicate that 17.3 million tonnes of mined material were stacked on the heap leach pads, containing a total of 311,169 tonnes of copper. With 217,124 tonnes already produced, approximately 91,140 tonnes remain unaccounted for, presenting a near-term commercial opportunity for Cyprium as it plans to revive the copper cathode production.
