Just The Facts: Immuron

Just The Facts: Immuron

US$3.5 million in US Department of Defense funding will go to developing Immuron Ltd (NASDAQ:IMRN, ASX:IMC)’s over-the-counter Travelan product to cover endemic military-relevant diarrheal pathogens.

Join Proactive’s Tylah Tully in the latest episode of Just The Facts as she explores a research agreement between Immuron, the Naval Medical Research Command (NMRC), and Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR), targeting the Campylobacter, Shigella and Entertoxigenic E. coli strains not currently covered by the treatment.

“The US Department of Defense is very interested,” Immuron CEO Steve Lydeamore said in an interview last year.

"They’ve spent quite a bit of money with our company, proving the capability of our technology. They’ve done studies showing that it has broad spectrum antibiotic activity on about 180 different pathogens.”

InfectiousDiarrhea is the most common illness reported by travellers visiting developing countries and among US troops deployed overseas, affecting 20 million people each year.
