Canada Jetlines has announced an immediate halt to all flights and the temporary suspension of its operations due to a lack of necessary financing.
The airline plans to file for creditor protection and has advised passengers with existing bookings to seek refunds through their credit card companies.
The news comes following the recent resignation of four key executives, including CEO Brigitte Goersch.
Canada Jetlines, a value-focused leisure carrier that began operations in 2022, becomes the latest Canadian airline to cease operations, following the closures of Lynx Air and Swoop earlier this year.
The airline, which operated a small fleet of Airbus A320s, had recently launched new routes and entered an agreement with Air Arabia Maroc.
Shares of Canada Jetlines were halted on Canada’s NEO exchange.
