Wiz, the cybersecurity firm, is set to open its European headquarters in London, providing the city with a well-needed tech boost.
This will be the company’s first office in Europe and will be managed by co-founder and head of research and development, Roy Reznik, who will relocate from Israel to the UK capital.
It comes a month after the cloud security startup rejected a US$23 billion bid from Google’s parent company Alphabet.
Wiz’s new office is part of plans to expand its presence in the UK, with a goal of increasing its workforce by 100 by the end of this year.
Additionally, the company aims to generate 35% of its total revenue from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa by the end of next year.
Wiz provides cloud security services, helping organisations identify security risks on platforms such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
The firm reported US$350 million in revenue last year and is on track to reach US$500 million this year.
“The UK is a region with many leading global brands and top tech talent, which is why we see it as key to the growth and expansion of Wiz,” said Reznik.
“Organisations in this market are embracing the cloud and capitalising on the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI). At the same time, with only 10% of data having migrated to the cloud so far, we see near limitless growth potential.
