Torr Metals adds veteran geologist to board of directors

Torr Metals (TSX-V:TMET) announced it has appointed geologist Gordon Maxwell to its board of directors.

Maxwell brings nearly 40 years of experience in the global mining industry to the position, the company said.

He has held significant leadership positions, including roles as exploration manager at Noranda Exploration and Xstrata, and most recently as exploration and business development manager at Glencore.

Maxwell has been recognized for his contributions to the Canadian mining industry, receiving the AME BC’s David Barr Award for Health and Safety in 2012 and the PDAC’s Skookum Jim Award for his contributions as a member of the Indigenous community in 2019.

Further, Maxwell serves on the board of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) and is a member of its Health and Safety, Geoscience and Innovation, and Aboriginal Affairs Committees.

“We are thrilled to welcome Gordon to Torr Metals (TSX-V:TMET). With his wealth of knowledge in the regions and mineralizing systems central to our projects, alongside a distinguished career at industry giants like Noranda, Xstrata, and Glencore, Gordon brings a level of unparalleled expertise that will significantly enhance our exploration efforts,” Torr Metals CEO Malcolm Dorsey said.

“His deep understanding of these geological settings, paired with his commitment to health, safety, and sustainable mining practices, will be instrumental as we advance our projects. Gordon's recognized contributions to the Canadian mining industry, particularly his work with Indigenous communities, align perfectly with our values and our vision for the future of the company.”

The company granted incentive stock options to Maxwell for the purchase of 200,000 shares at $0.10 per share for five years.
