NextSource Materials Inc. (TSX:NEXT, OTCQB:NSRCF) said it has appointed Dr. Tilo Hauke as executive vice president of downstream operations.
Hauke brings extensive experience from his previous role as EVP of Supply Chain Management at FREYR Battery and his 20-year tenure at SGL Carbon SE, where he held senior leadership positions in fuel cell components and technology innovation.
Hauke holds a Ph.D. in solid-state physics and an MBA, bringing a strong academic and professional background to his new role at NextSource.
At NextSource, Hauke will oversee the company's global strategy to construct Battery Anode Facilities (BAFs) for producing graphite anode material for lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles. These facilities, strategically located worldwide, will leverage NextSource's proprietary anode processing technology to supply major EV automotive companies.
"I am delighted to welcome Tilo to NextSource to lead our global anode strategy as the company advances to becoming a vertically integrated large-scale producer of value-added graphite products,” NextSource CEO Craig Scherba said in a statement.
“We are excited by the huge scale of the opportunity presented by this rapidly growing market and the contribution Tilo can make to NextSource's objective of becoming an integrated, global supplier of critical battery and technology materials."
The new EVP will start in October 2024.
