Take-Two Interactive Software Inc (NASDAQ:TTWO) shares moved higher after Thursday’s closing bell as the video game maker’s fiscal first quarter earnings impressed.
The Grand Theft Auto-maker reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.05, $0.04 ahead of the $0.01 expected.
Revenue was up 4% from the year-ago quarter at $1.34 billion, topping estimates of $1.24 billion.
Net Bookings grew 1% year-over-year to $1.22 billion, in line with the company’s guidance.
Major contributors to net bookings were NBA 2K24, Grand Theft Auto Online, Grand Theft Auto V, Toon Blast, Empires & Puzzles, Match Factory!, Red Dead Redemption 2, Red Dead Online, Words With Friends, and Merge Dragons!.
“We achieved solid first quarter results by engaging our players with exciting new game releases and content updates, while also maintaining our focus on efficiency,” Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick said in a statement.
“Our management team remains confident in our path forward and we are reiterating our Net Bookings outlook for the year of $5.55 to $5.65 billion.”
Shares of Take-Two Interactive added 4.5% at $145 post-earnings.
