Faron Pharmaceuticals Limited (AIM:FARN) has confirmed Yrjö Wichmann as its permanent chief financial officer after he took on the role on a temporary basis in April.
He brings over 20 years of experience in financing and investment banking to his role and was Faron's CFO from 2014 to 2019.
Before that, he held senior positions in life sciences and biotechnology at IP Finland, Biohit, CapMan, FibroGen Europe, and D. Carnegies & Co.
"Mr. Wichmann has played a pivotal role in the financial turnaround of the company over the past months," said chief executive Dr Juho Jalkanen.
"I am very pleased to see his continued dedication to the company and I am looking forward to working alongside him as we continue to advance bexmarilimab through clinical development in order to bring this very promising therapy to patients as soon as possible, whilst also delivering value to investors."
Faron's drug development CLEVER technology is designed to reprogramme myeloid cells to activate anti-tumour immunity in haematological and solid tumour environments.
