Alex Beard, the billionaire former head of oil at Glencore, was one of those charged by the UK white-collar police.

Ecora Resources PLC (LSE:ECOR, TSX:ECOR, OTCQX:ECRAF) has noted the Capstone Copper Corp updated Feasibility Study on the Santo Domingo project, over which Ecora holds a 2% Net Smelter Return royalty.

The group's royalty area includes the highest copper grade portion of the deposit, expected to be mined during the initial 6 to 7 years of production.

Keras Resources PLC (AIM:KRS) shares rocketed almost 80% higher on Thursday morning after the miner confirmed fertiliser production had kicked off at its jointly owned site in Utah.

Consistent commercial production of phosphate fertiliser PhoSul granules had now been achieved at the processing facility, Keras confirmed in a statement, at five tons per hour.

Critical Mineral Resources PLC (LSE:CMRS) said initial exploration work has started at its Igli project in Morocco following recent reconnaissance visits.

The Phase 1 work programme includes detailed geological mapping to 50m spacing, locating silver, copper and other economic mineral showings, rock chip, channel and stream sediment sampling and high-resolution satellite imagery.

Caledonia Mining Corporation PLC (AIM:CMCL, NYSE-A:CMCL) hailed its progress on sustainability in several key areas at its Blanket Mine in Zimbabwe during 2023.

Mark Learmonth, chief executive, said: "A major operational highlight in 2023 was the substantial 14% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions; this was made possible following the installation of our 12.2 MWac solar plant, which has decreased our reliance on both the local grid and diesel generators.”

Premier African Minerals Ltd (AIM:PREM, OTC:PRMMF) said it had received confirmation from its float plant supplier that spodumene concentrate produced at its Zulu plant will be SC6 grade or better.

SC6 is the requirement to produce lithium hydroxide for use in batteries and other modes.

Total commercial production for the first six months of 2024 increased by 75% to 3.7 million tonnes, comprising 3.3 million tonnes of pellets and 0.4 million tonnes of commercial concentrate.

Base Resources Limited (AIM:BSE, ASX:BSE) said that a draft for an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Madagascan government for the Toliera project is well-advanced.

Lifting of the Toliara Project’s on-ground suspension is expected to occur upon entry into the MoU, which Base Resources believes to be achievable in the near term, the group said in the statement.
