Doubleview Gold Corp (TSX-V:DBG, OTCQB:DBLVF) CEO Farshad Shirvani discussed resuming drilling operations after addressing a worker shortage, emphasizing the importance of infill drilling for improving the mineral resource estimate for the Hat project, and highlighting the benefits of maximizing productivity during the summer due to favorable conditions and reduced competition.
Proactive: You're back drilling once again. Given that the pause in drilling was due to a shortage of workers, can you tell us how you resolved this issue and what your plans are moving forward?
Farshad Shirvani: Yes we are. We have drilled approximately 3,450 meters so far, with an additional 150 meters completed last night. We will continue drilling moving forward.
Can you remind everyone about the mineral resource you released last week and explain how important it is for the Hat project as you continue with this drill program?
Yes, we have identified a pit with the resource estimate, and there are areas within it that needed infill drilling to achieve higher grades. The purpose is to infill those areas that are missing or have fewer drill holes and results. This is one of our targets, and we've been successful, observing mineralization in all drill holes. The campaign has been very fruitful.
Additionally, we aim to move more of the resource into the indicated and measured categories through this drilling, which will add value to the deposit as we move forward.
To put out a version two of the mineral resource estimate, this kind of work needs to be done, as you mentioned, to take it to the next level.
Exactly. What we're doing is planning for the second version of the resource estimate, which we aim to complete by the end of this year or the beginning of 2025. Everything is set up differently this time compared to the first estimate. Initially, we needed a lot more information to understand how the deposit was shaping up, which we have since gathered.
We are working on the starter pit, which refers to the resource closer to the surface. Our goal is to strengthen and expand this area to establish a better starting pit.
How important is it to get workers back into the field now and to maximize productivity during the summer before the fall?
The days are longer, the weather is better, and the costs are lower, which is why we’re focusing on this now. Additionally, there’s less competition in the market. We have helicopters readily available, two companies on board, and all our employees are working more efficiently. They also have a better understanding of the project, which is why it's crucial to get them into the business quickly.
