Abrdn PLC (LSE:ABDN) will update on trading for the first half of the year next Tuesday, August 6, but the asset manager’s search for a new chief executive will primarily be on investors’ minds.
Stephen Bird’s departure was announced in May, with chief financial officer Jason Windsor stepping in as interim boss.
Abrdn had noted it was “the right time for Stephen to hand over the reins,” after the firm’s share price almost halved during his tenure.
Given a lack of updates since, any news on Bird’s replacement will be keenly awaited, with Abrdn previously saying external candidates would be considered.
Abrdn had reported a 3% increase in assets under management during the first quarter to £507.7 billion.
Net flows came in at £0.8 billion, against a £6.2 billion deficit a year earlier.
Plans had been laid to save £150 million on an annualised basis by late 2025 beforehand.
