Pantheon International reports strong buyback-supported NAV growth

Pantheon International PLC (LSE:PIN), the FTSE 250 investment trust, saw a 6.1% increase in net asset value per share and a 19.9% growth in the company's share price in the 12 months ending 31 May.

The company's investment strategy, which focuses on private equity-backed companies, demonstrated strong performance with EBITDA and revenue growth of 17% and 14%, respectively.

“This indicates the strength and resilience of these companies and underpins our confidence in PIP's reported NAV,” said the group.

PIP's share buyback program contributed a 4.7% uplift to its NAV growth.

Chair John Singer said it was “a highly productive year, progressing our medium-term strategy, integrating corporate and investment activities that put shareholders first”.

Charlotte Morris, partner at Pantheon and co-lead manager of PIP, added: “PIP benefits from being an integral part of Pantheon's platform, having access to a broad set of global relationships, deal opportunities and expertise.

“On behalf of PIP, we are backing top quality managers who are sector specialists, focusing on resilient, non-cyclical sectors that are benefitting from long-term trends such as automation and digitalisation, ageing demographics and sustainability.

“We believe that these longer-term trends will continue to provide tailwinds to PIP's portfolio companies."

PIP's portfolio remained cash-generative with net cash inflows of £37 million during the period.

The company's long-term performance record is strong, with annualised NAV per share growth of 13.5% since inception.
