Terran Orbital (NYSE:LLAP) announced that it has received the certificate of occupancy for its new 94,000-square-foot space vehicle assembly facility in Irvine, California.
The satellite product manufacturer said that upon the interior completion of construction and outfitting, the new facility will allow it to increase its space vehicle assembly, integration and testing capabilities by more than three times its current capacity.
All of Terran Orbital (NYSE:LLAP)’s space assembly will be moved to this new facility.
Its existing facilities will be dedicated to the manufacturing of components and modules, which the company said will increase the overall efficiency and capacity of its production system and support its vertical integration efforts.
“We are thrilled to be advancing toward the opening of our new facility,” Terran Orbital CEO Marc Bell said in a statement.
“It will truly be state-of-the-art, featuring advanced robotics that will boost our capacity and accelerate our production speed, giving us the ability to facilitate existing and new contract awards.”
