Falcon Gold’s Great Burnt property 'lights up like a Christmas tree', CEO says

Falcon Gold Corp (TSX-V:FG, OTC:FGLDF) is getting set to explore the potential at its Great Burnt copper project.

The site, which is contiguous to a significant recent discovery, has garnered significant attention due to the promising results in the area. Falcon owns 2,275 hectares in the Great Burnt Camp, located near the Benton-Spruce Ridge Great Burnt copper-gold joint venture, where recent drilling results have shown high copper concentrations.

The Great Burnt greenstone belt, where the property is located, is rich in copper and gold, with other promising zones along a 14 km mineralized corridor that extends into Falcon's property. This area also hosts Besshi-type massive sulphide deposits, which are extensive and rich in copper, and is near other significant gold-bearing projects.

Karim Rayani, CEO of Falcon Gold, highlighted the potential of their property, noting that Benton Resources recently hit copper intercepts ranging from 2% to 10%. "They believe that they're sitting on a world-class discovery," Rayani told Proactive.

High copper intercepts drive excitement

Falcon Gold has conducted extensive airborne and geophysical surveys on their property. According to the CEO, all the data points to the same conclusion: the magnetic structure on their site appears identical to known deposits. "Geology is an exact science, but when you look at this magnetic structure and compare it to ours, it lights up like a Christmas tree," Rayani remarked.

The proximity and similar magnetic structures between the two properties suggest a high potential for Falcon Gold's drilling campaign. To that end, Falcon has secured permits for 11 drill holes, totaling 1,100 meters initially, with plans to expand to 2,000 to 3,000 meters. Drilling will commence on the northern end of Falcon Gold's property, targeting emission zones identified through geophysical work.

Meanwhile, the news flow out of Benton’s program at Great Burnt has been nothing but positive. One hole returned 1.99% copper (Cu) over 18.1 meters, including 7.25% Cu over 4.5 meters and 18.65% Cu over 1.1 meters. These are significant copper grades, indicating very rich copper zones. Infill drilling in the Main Zone continues to confirm substantial copper mineralization, suggesting the continuity and potential expansion of the resource, while the identification of another highly conductive anomaly presents a high-priority target for future drilling.

'Everything points to the same thing'

A Phase 3 diamond drill program at Benton’s property has successfully expanded the Great Burnt deposit by intercepting massive sulphides, extending the deposit 150 meters down plunge and along strike to the south. The company completed 3,840 meters in 10 holes, with 7 intersecting massive sulphide. Highlights include significant new massive sulphide intercepts, the discovery of new gold trends, and ongoing analysis of geophysical data to generate additional targets.

Rayani and the rest of Falcon’s team sees reasons to be optimistic that it could see similar results to Benton Resources.

"We've done airborne and geophysical work, and everything points to the same thing,” Rayani said.

“It looks identical."
