Spectral AI Inc (NASDAQ:MDAI) announced a 30% increase in its patent portfolio, enhancing the protection of its proprietary DeepView System wound assessment platform.
The total number of patents granted to the company rose to 26, up from 20 at the end of the 2023 calendar year.
Spectral’s patents include 12 US and 14 international patents covering various aspects of the DeepView System, such as tissue classification, multi-spectral imaging, machine learning, and high-precision imaging with multiplexed illumination.
Additionally, Spectral AI has 38 pending patent applications worldwide, including seven in the US and 31 internationally, spanning nine distinct patent families.
“These newly granted patents highlight the novel nature of our DeepView System platform and its ability to deliver an immediate, objective, and grounded assessment of a wound’s healing potential,” said Peter Carslon, Spectral’s CEO.
The DeepView System platform represents a significant advancement in wound care diagnostics, aiming to provide faster and more accurate treatment decisions, thereby improving patient outcomes.
“The DeepView System platform reflects years of significant investment in product development and our team is continuing to enhance the underlying technology,” Carlson added.
“Together with our trademarks and trade secrets, these intellectual property assets are keys to our success and will serve as a foundation for our planned product commercialization initiatives set to commence in late 2024 and continuing through 2026.”
