Solis Minerals Ltd (ASX:SLM, TSX-V:SLMN, OTCQB:SLMFF) executive director Matthew Boyes joins Jonathan Jackson in the Proactive studio to discuss a drone-borne magnetometry survey scheduled for early August at the Guaneros Project in Peru. This survey aims to provide initial geological insights to guide further exploration, identifying areas likely to contain copper mineralisation.
Following promising results, Solis plans to conduct a ground-based induced polarisation (IP) survey, supported by ongoing geochemical sampling and mapping. The company is simultaneously advancing exploration across all four of its projects in Peru.
Boyes highlighted the momentum in the copper portfolio exploration, emphasising the importance of airborne magnetic surveys for initial drilling targets at Guaneros. He mentioned the similarity in target generation expected with the Ilo Este and Chancho Al Palo targets, which have significant magnetic and IP geophysical signatures and surface mineralisation in altered porphyry rocks. The Guaneros project was staked in May and results are eagerly anticipated.
Solis intends to drill the four projects sequentially starting with Chancho Al Palo in December, pending permits. The company focuses on the Coastal Belt, identified as prospective for copper porphyry and plans to continue developing its Peruvian tenements, exploring lithium and copper opportunities across South America.
