MustGrow Biologics Corp. (TSX-V:MGRO, OTCQB:MGROF) announced that it has ramped up its sales and marketing efforts in California for its mustard-derived organic biofertility product TerraSante, which is focused on soil microbiome health, nutrient and water use efficiency and plant yields.
The agriculture biotechnology company said it will be attending Strawberry Center Field Day at Cal Poly to promote TerraSante to hundreds of strawberry growers, researchers, and farming industry representatives.
Strawberries represent a US$2.7 billion annual production business in California, it noted.
The company also said it has engaged Nutrien sales veteran Michael Atkins to accelerate its California sales efforts.
An agronomist with two decades of experience in Coastal California, at Nutrien, Atkins gave specialized agronomic advice to 60 pest control advisers conducted small plot research trials on new products, and presented results to Coastal Division Branch Managers and Pest Control Advisors.
His responsibilities ranged from nutrient management and investigation of crop claims to root cause analysis and loss mitigation strategies.
MustGrow in May 2024 announced it had received the California Department of Food Agriculture registration approval for TerraSante and organic certification from the state’s Organic Input Material program.
The company said it expects to continue its efforts towards achieving further registrations for TerraSante in other US states.
