Some of the UK’s busiest airports increased the fees Brits must pay to drop off, with drivers labelling the charge a “rip-off”.
Drop-off parking fees increased at seven UK airports, with London Gatwick, Edinburgh, Birmingham, and Bristol raising charges by £1 compared to 2023.
Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, and Aberdeen increased tariffs by 50p, RAC research found.
London Stansted remains the most expensive airport for drop-off, charging £7 for 15 minutes.
RAC senior policy officer Rod Dennis said: “It’s depressing, if perhaps unsurprising given what’s happened in the past, to see seven airports have hiked their drop-off charges once again this year.
"To have to pay £5, £6 or even £7 for the briefest of stops to simply open the boot and take some luggage out for a friend or loved one is bordering on the ridiculous."
Nine airports kept their drop-off charges unchanged this year.
Despite no increase in fees, Manchester offers the worst value, charging £5 for a five-minute stay, equivalent to £1 per minute.
According to a recent RAC survey, 81% of drivers consider the charges a 'rip-off', with 71% believing all airports should offer free drop-offs.
