Marimaca Copper's ESG milestones highlighted in third Digbee assessment

Marimaca Copper's ESG milestones highlighted in third Digbee assessment

Digbee Limited founder and CEO Jamie Strauss and Marimaca Copper Corp (TSX:MARI)'s José Antonio Merino joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion with details of the third Digbee assessment of the Marimaca Copper Project in Chile's Antofagasta region.

Merino discussed the strategic impact of the assessment, highlighting the company's commitment to high ESG standards. "We are on track to achieve our goals based on the project's features and specific actions we are taking," Merino said.

The project benefits from its location, offering reduced environmental sensitivities and access to seawater, contributing to a low carbon footprint. The Digbee assessment has provided material validation of Marimaca's ESG goals, enhancing engagement with stakeholders and authorities.

Looking ahead, Merino outlined the company's goals for the next 12 months, including submitting its environmental application and delivering a definitive feasibility study (DFS). Significant progress is expected in project financing and community engagement, with ongoing efforts to present the project to the local community.

Strauss emphasised the importance of sustainability in the mining industry and how Digbee's assessments help companies like Marimaca connect with younger generations and build trust within the industry.
