Forward Water Technologies Corp (TSX-V:FWTC) told investors it has launched new projects aimed at improving wastewater handling in the food and beverage sector.
Its projects are set to start through direct customer contact with ‘globally positioned multinational manufacturers’, the company said.
The company has entered the early planning stages for pilot / early commercial trials, after being selected for evaluation by two unique clients.
These projects, if successful, are expected to significantly reduce water usage in the manufacturing of food and beverage products, it highlighted in a statement.
FWTC, meanwhile, added that the energy footprint currently required for such processes would be reduced, generating cost savings and a major impact on CO2 emission reductions.
The company’s approach uses patented ‘forward osmosis’ technology, which focuses on reducing challenging waste streams while returning fresh water for re-use or surface release.
