Majestic Wine has shortlisted 125 locations to open 50 new stores across the UK and the Channel Islands, the online and brick-and-mortar win merchant has announced.
It forms part of Majestic’s push into ‘experiential’ retail offerings encompassing in-store wine tastings and events.
As part of this strategy, Majestic bought wine bar chain Vagabond out of administration this April
Chief executive John Colley said: “Experiential, bricks-and-mortar retailing is at the heart of what we do at Majestic, and we are committed to opening up to one new store per month during the coming years to help us reach even more customers across the UK.
“In addition to the new stores already in our pipeline for this year, we have identified more than 100 locations across the UK and the Channel Islands that we believe would be a perfect fit for Majestic.”
Majestic has flagged 30 sites in central London plus one in Guernsey, Channel Islands. The group opened its first store in Jersey this April, marking its first foray into the Crown Dependencies.
