Tesla shares extend rally for eighth consecutive day

Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) shares continued its impressive nine-day rally on Monday, closing with a modest 0.5% gain.

The streak has swiftly reversed its year-to-date losses, surging over 75% from its low point in April.

Tesla’s rally follows the automaker’s strong quarterly delivery report, highlighting robust performance in both vehicle production and its burgeoning energy storage segment.

In addition to Tesla, smaller electric vehicle manufacturers like Lucid (LCID), Li Auto (LI), Nio (NIO), and XPeng (XPEV) also exceeded delivery expectations, buoying investor confidence across the EV sector.

Despite these successes, Tesla faced challenges earlier in 2024, including intense global competition and softer demand for electric vehicles in the US. Efforts to streamline operations, including workforce reductions and price cuts, underscore Tesla's strategic adjustments amidst a competitive landscape.

Tesla is scheduled to announce its quarterly results on July 23, with market attention also focused on its upcoming Robotaxi unveiling on August 8.
