DNEG Group worth $2bn after latest investment round - report

London-based DNEG Group, the movie technology company, has been valued at over $2 billion following a $200 million investment from Abu Dhabi's United Al Saqer Group, reports the Financial Times.

Known for its visual effects in films such as Dune and Oppenheimer," DNEG will use the funds to develop AI tools for film, TV, gaming, and advertising, and expand into producing its own movies, the paper said.

DNEG, which nearly went public in 2019, aims to create AI tools for photorealistic content and advance the Middle East's content production industry.

The company has won seven Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects and plans to produce new films such as "Animal Friends" and an adaptation of the Ramayana.
