Panmure Liberum launches brand with two new business lines

A new name appeared in the City of London on Monday, Panmure Liberum, after the two small- and mid-cap brokers unveiled their unsurprising new brand after merging in May.

Alongside the launch of its new brand, the mid-market investment bank, which is owned by Qatar's QInvest and former Barclays boss Bob Diamond's Atlas Merchant Capital, revealed a strengthened management team and two new product areas: debt advisory and specialised private capital.

It said these businesses were a sign of its "new growth ambitions" and "an early proof point of strategic delivery".

The new debt advisory team will work be part of the wider investment banking business to provide advice to corporate clients across the capital structure, supporting clients to access pools of liquidity from lending banks and debt funds.

The private capital offering will be based in Cambridge and called Panmure Liberum Cambridge Capital, supporting innovative and growing companies in the healthcare and life sciences sector to access capital from its global investors.

The group, which will now work from one office at 25 Ropemaker Street, will be led by Rich Ricci as CEO, the former deputy of Diamond at Barclays who has run Panmure Gordon since 2020, with his senior executive team including Liberum's Bidhi Bhoma as deputy CEO.

Dru Danford and Stephen Jones will be head and chair of investment banking, respectively, and Panmure's Simon French will be head of research.

The combined company also recently announced its US expansion with the appointment of three senior executives from the former Numis US business.
