VEIL's Tuan Le says Vietnam's equity market offers opportunities as economic growth recovers

VEIL's Tuan Le says Vietnam's equity market offers opportunities as economic growth recovers

Vietnam Enterprise Investments (LSE:VEIL) lead portfolio manager Tuan Le speaks with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about Vietnam's economic growth, investment opportunities, and VEIL's strategic focus.

Le shared positive news, highlighting that Vietnam's core investment themes, including supply chain development, middle-class growth, urbanization, and infrastructure, remain strong. He noted that foreign direct investment (FDI) reached record levels last year and is expected to rise further this year.

"The country will expect to have high GDP growth this year, 6 to 6.5%, thanks to supportive economic and monetary policies, and stronger credit growth," said Le. This environment supports a positive outlook for the equity market, with VEIL forecasting 11% revenue growth and 18% impact growth.

Le also mentioned significant interest from global companies, such as visits from Apple’s Tim Cook and Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, following Vietnam's strategic partnership with the United States, focusing on the semiconductor industry. Nvidia’s $200 million agreement with FPT, a top VEIL portfolio holding, for an AI factory data center, underscores this trend.

In discussing VEIL’s portfolio, Le emphasised a strong focus on the banking sector, benefiting from economic policies and attractive valuations, as well as a solid recovery in retail, property, technology, and infrastructure-related companies.
