Eden Research PLC (AIM:EDEN, OTCQB:EDNSF), a company specializing in sustainable biopesticides and plastic-free formulation technologies, said it has seen what it termed promising results from recent field trials of its new development stage bioinsecticide.
Over 30 laboratory trials and more than 140 field trials were carried out in Europe and the United States.
The bioinsecticide was tested against aphids, spider mites, whiteflies, and other pests at various life stages.
The evaluations demonstrated strong efficacy, with the Eden product performing as well as or better than existing biological products from leading biochemical companies.
"These promising results further demonstrate Eden's ability to develop market-leading biological formulations at a time when conventional insecticide products are being phased out due to regulatory action," said CEO Sean Smith.
"The trials, undertaken by Eden and independently by several potential commercial partners interested in gaining rights to the product, show extremely promising efficacy and consistency in combating these pests known to critically impact crop yields.

The need for effective pest control solutions is critical, as up to 40% of crops are lost annually due to pests and diseases. The United Nations projects that 50% more food will be required by 2050 to feed the growing global population. Insects pose a major challenge to agriculture, causing significant economic losses estimated at $70 billion annually.
