Giyani Metals makes strong progress with Johannesburg demonstration plant

Giyani Metals makes strong progress with Johannesburg demonstration plant

Giyani Metals Corp (TSX-V:EMM, OTC:CATPF) president and CEO Danny Keating joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion with news of the rapid progression of the company's demonstration plant in Johannesburg.

Following the successful drawdown of IDC funds, Keating said the company has made significant strides in the project, crucial for optimizing battery-grade manganese production and de-risking the K.Hill project ahead of full-scale commercial operations.

He emphasized that the plant, built at a 1 in 10 engineering scale, will be one of the largest in the manganese battery space, allowing for continuous operations and high-volume production.

The Giyani CEO shared insights into the plant's capacity to meet customer specifications and supply needs, ensuring reliability and quality. With 60 engineers and technicians on site, and additional construction work being done offsite, the project remains on track for commissioning and production in the fourth quarter of this year.

Keating highlighted the importance of securing offtake agreements and the company's active engagement with potential customers. The company continues to work on project financing and definitive feasibility studies, aiming for a successful project finance by mid-next year. Keating also mentioned upcoming conferences and the company's efforts to meet potential investors and shareholders.
