Guild Esports PLC (LSE:GILD, OTCQB:GULDF) has announced its entry into Activision’s Call of Duty: Warzone for the Esports World Cup.
A new Warzone team will compete under the Guild banner at the event, marking the gaming group’s fourth event in the Esports World Cup, alongside Apex Legends, ESL R1, and Street Fighter.
Guild Esports aims to gain more Club Championship points and a share of the $20 million prize pool at the Esports World Cup.
The new team has been signed for the duration of the EWC, with an option to extend based on performance.
'WarsZ', the 14th ranked player in the world for all-time prize-money winnings in Warzone, will captain the team during the Saudi Arabian event.
Back in 203, WarsZ led his team to a fifth-place finish in the World Series of Warzone, representing the highest-ranked EU team in that tournament.
His teammates include KINGAJ, a previous teammate of WarsZ, and iVisionSR, who won the stage one final at the World Series 2023.
