US electric vehicle startup Fisker Inc has filed for bankruptcy after failed attempts at rescue deals.
Filings were made overnight after a deal with a large automobile manufacturer fell through.
The firm raised concerns over its ability to continue operations in February 2024, having made a loss of $463.6m during the fourth quarter of last year.
In March, it paused production of its Ocean vehicle and halted development of the smaller Pear hatchback while it sought a rescue deal with a "large auto maker".
Trading of the stock was suspended later that month after it told investors a rescue deal had fallen through, with a process to delist as it considered options such as "in or out-of-court restructurings", capital market transactions, repurchases and equity issuances.
