Arm Holdings promoted into Nasdaq 100

Arm Holdings PLC's (NASDAQ:ARM) elevation to ‘tech royalty’ was confirmed yesterday with the UK-based but US-listed chip designer added to the Nasdaq 100 and a clutch of other indices.

The British semiconductor and software design firm will replace Sirius XM in the Nasdaq-100 Index and the Nasdaq-100 Equal Weighted Index.

Arm is also joining the Nasdaq-100 Tech Sector Index in recognition of its size and growing presence as tech titan,

At yesterday’s price of US$158, Arm is currently valued at around US$166 billion,

Japanese investment house Softbank owns the vast majority of the shares.
