Lisata Therapeutics completes pancreatic cancer cohort enrollment in CENDIFOX trial

Lisata Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:LSTA) announced it has completed enrollment in the pancreatic cancer cohort of its Phase 1b/2a CENDIFOX trial.

The trial evaluates the safety and efficacy of certepetide (formerly LSTA1) in combination with FOLFIRINOX-based therapies for pancreatic, colon, and appendiceal cancers.

The open-label CENDIFOX trial aims to enroll a total of 51 patients across different cancer types, focusing on neoadjuvant FOLFIRINOX regimens with or without panitumumab. The study at KU Cancer Center includes 21 resectable and borderline resectable pancreatic cancer patients, along with groups for high-grade colon and appendiceal cancers with peritoneal metastasis, and colon cancer patients with oligo-metastatic disease.

Dr. Kristen Buck, Lisata’s chief medical officer, told investors that enrolling the pancreatic cancer cohort marks a pivotal advancement in certepetide's clinical development.

“We are encouraged by the progress of the CENDIFOX trial and look forward to both the completion of enrollment in the remaining two cohorts and the reporting of results,” Buck said in a statement.

The CENDIFOX trial provides Lisata with crucial tumor tissue data for immune profiling and long-term patient outcome information. Lisata is responsible for supplying certepetide for the trial.

The study is led by Dr. Anup Kasi at The University of Kansas Cancer Center, which is also funding the study.

“We are excited to collaborate with Lisata and encouraged by certepetide’s potentially diverse applicability,” Dr Kasi said.

“We are eager to finish enrolling participants in the remaining study cohorts and to analyze the findings of each group to determine its efficacy.”
