Torr Metals (TSX-V:TMET) said it has identified significant copper-gold mineralization at its Kolos Project, supported by robust geophysical anomalies and multiple new exploration targets.
The company has zeroed in on a ZTEM geophysical anomaly at the newly-defined Vik Zone.
The Vik Zone marks a new discovery of copper (Cu) and molybdenum (Mo) mineralization in outcrop, situated on the margins of a highly prospective area within the project.
According to Torr, the zone is part of a nearly 2.5 kilometer trend identified with moderate to high resistivity anomalies.
Key highlights from the recent developments include confirmation of outcrop mineralization coinciding with 2023 soil anomalies and ZTEM geophysical data.
Among 47 rock grab samples, 22 returned nearly 100 ppm Cu, with the highest assay at 4,240 ppm Cu within the Clapperton Zone. Another eight samples showed around 0.1 g/t Au, with the highest grade of 1.07 g/t Au in the Kirby Zone.
Exploration identified new ZTEM geophysical anomalies in the eastern region, highlighting extensive Cu-Mo mineralization potential. This includes a significant high resistivity anomaly extending over 500 meters in width and 800 meters in depth.
Torr also expanded exploration targets with the discovery of 10 new grassroots targets across the southern and central portions of the project exhibiting similar geology and ZTEM signatures to the established mineralized zones.
"The rock grab sample grades are in-line with comparisons we have made in the region and we have confirmed surface mineralization in outcrop within all of our high-priority target zones, positioning us with prime starting locations for future drilling,” Malcolm Dorsey, CEO of Torr Metals (TSX-V:TMET) told shareholders.
The company plans to leverage these discoveries for the upcoming 2024 field season, focusing on advancing both existing drill-ready targets and new grassroots prospects.
