SRT Marine Systems endures stormy early session to come out ahead

It was a roller coaster first hour of trading for investors in SRT Marine Systems PLC.

Shares in the onboard electronics systems group dropped over 40% before rebounding sharply on what was a bad news/good news trading update.

Reflexively, market makers marked down the stock after SRT provided markedly lower-than-expected full-year guidance.

The company announced that project revenue milestones anticipated for the current financial period have been delayed, pushing expected revenues into the next financial year.

These delays, stemming from extended customer contract completion processes, will result in significantly lower revenues, approximately £14 million, primarily from their transceivers division, leading to a loss for the period.

However, a jump to the paragraphs lower down the statement reveals the group is making progress with a flurry of potential orders worth over £400 million.

By 8.48 am, the shares were actually UP 3.3% at 18.8p.
