King Charles’s banknotes have entered circulation today, making him the second monarch in history to appear on them.
New notes will be gradually added into the economy by the Bank of England, replacing those which are damaged or if demand increases.

Notes featuring Queen Elizabeth will remain legal tender.
All other designs and security features of the notes will remain the same, keeping images of historical figures Winston Churchill, Jane Austen, JMW Turner and Alan Turing.
"This is a historic moment, as it’s the first time we’ve changed the sovereign on our notes," said Bank of England governor, Andrew Bailey.
"We know that cash is important for many people, and we are committed to providing banknotes for as long as the public demand them.”
